Before I became a mommy, I never worried about chemicals in the products I was using. I never even thought about it. When I had my baby showers, my favorite gift I received were diapers. We were a strictly disposable diaper family. We preferred them because we felt they were easier on-the-go. I started reading a little bit about the effects of chemicals on baby's delicate skin when I was on bed rest. How everything that baby wears should be washed in non-scented laundry detergent before they wear it. Things like that. I never thought something that was designed to go so close to baby's skin could actually hurt them.

The first time I noticed Sweet Pea was allergic to certain types of disposable diapers (also soaps and laundry detergents), we were at my mother-in-law's house. It was the first time I had put a store brand diaper on her sensitive little hiney at home, so when my mother-in-law went to change her, we both became very alarmed at how red her skin was only where the diaper was touching.

Bambo Nature Disposable Diapers Review

Now that I am aware of chemicals in diapers, when Bambo Nature contacted me to test out their eco-friendly, non-toxic diapers, I was actually kind of excited. I had read some other wonderful reviews about them and couldn't wait for my package to arrive.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the package of Bambo Nature disposable diapers were the smell. They don't have one! This is great news because any kind of scents can mean harm causing chemicals that can cause rashes and who knows what else. They have a cute design that even my daughter noticed. They are soft and thin, but they held up to the job- small and large. And the most important thing? No rashes, red spots, or irritation of any kind! That's awesome.

Do you think disposable diapers are more convenient on the go? What are your favorite features of Bambo Nature diapers? How do feel about the harsh chemicals that can be found in baby products?

  3. I've never done cloth diapers, but I would think disposables would be more convenient on the go. I like that these are chemical free. I'm noticing that my baby girl gets red pretty easily, maybe these would help that.

  7. I do think disposables are convenient on the go.. you don't have to carry around a wet bag to bring your diapers home with you to wash. I like that these diapers are hypoallergenic, so I know my baby's skin isn't going to be affected by them!

  8. I definitely feel like disposable diapes are more convenient on the go. Its a bit of a pain to carry a wet bag around and if you have to do diaper laundry away from home...

  10. I think disposables are more convenient for travel, but not necessarily for just around town. I love that Bambo diapers are scent and chemical-free.

  11. We will be using cloth but I feel like disposables have a time and place for use. I like that bambo nature has far less chemicals and is more biodegradable than regular disposables.

  14. I think they can be more convenient on the go, especially if you aren't going to be able to do laundry for a few days. I have used both when traveling, but sposies were easy on the plane. I hate that they are toxic, so a toxin free diaper would be good!

  20. I'd give these to my niece. I think cloth are great, but disposables are more convenient, especially when traveling long distances and on airplanes and all that. My friend uses cloth all the time, but recently used disposable while traveling in and out of airports.

  23. Disposable diapers are definately easier on the go. I like these because they will not smell like gasoline which is what a major diaper smells like to me plus there is no recognizable cartoon character like Dora, Disney, or Elmo on them.

  25. When I'm at home I use cloth diapers, but when I'm visiting relatives, disposables are definitely the way to go. I learned this the hard way when my mom decided to "help out" by putting fabric softener in my cloth diaper load.

  34. I plan to use mainly cloth, but will resort to disposables during certain times (traveling, visiting grandma, rashes, etc). I'm very concerned about the chemicals in many baby products and I like how these are safer for baby's skin. Sensitive skin runs in my family and we try to use fragrance free products.

  74. I try not to use disposable diapers, but sometimes when traveling there are no real good options for washing our cloth diapers, so we turn to disposables. I recently found out that Target's up and up brand are essentially cheaper versions of free and clear diapers and so have been using those, but I'm always on the look out for environmentally friendly disposable options that won't break the bank.
