Why I Like Nursing Canopies {Booby Trapper Review & Giveaway, Ends 6/3}

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

I was never a fan of nursing canopies (or covers) with my daughter. We never really used one because we were at home so much, so she never got use to it. So I was always very uncomfortable about nursing in public. I still prefer a good nursing shirt and that's it, but what if you aren't wearing a proper nursing shirt?

http://boobytrapper.ca

I am all for if you are comfortable not covering yourself. You shouldn't have to! You are just feeding your baby. I wish I had that confidence. I feel the need to make others around me feel comfortable and when they are people who you are with, that need is probably greater. It shouldn't be this way, but this is my issue. Hopefully one day I'll get over it.

Summer Fun Giveaway

Mid Week Trip - Publix - Saved 90%!

I needed bread and toilet paper. I saw the deal on Playtex infant items and knew I should stock up for little man since I only have girl ones (and most of them are broken). Wish I had the Publix Baby Club coupon to make them moneymakers, but it's okay because they were a GREAT deal!

"Dr. Carey’s Baby Care: First Year Baby Care Guide" Review

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial.

Website - Facebook - Twitter - YouTube - Pinterest - Google+ - LinkedIn

Dr. Carey is a respected practicing pediatrician in Ventura, California. He hosts Dr. Carey’s Baby Care on CAPS-TV in Ventura and other public broadcasting stations nationwide. He self-published a comprehensive review series for medical students and has written articles for Ventura Parent Magazine. He serves as a guest speaker for numerous expectant parent classes. Dr. Carey is known for his relaxed and fun attitude, good bedside manner and for always taking his patient’s concerns seriously. He has a deep love for the children he cares for. The creation of his first book will help you get through all the hiccups of your baby’s first year.

Each child is different and even experienced parents can have issues arise that they have never seen before. It is nice to have a quick, easy to read reference right there if/when I need it! There are so many topics covered in this book that I needed to reference this time around and it's good to know that I wasn't alone and that they were ALL common issues that can arise.

Co-Sleeping Safely With Your Baby

Co-sleeping is a hot topic of debate that frequently divides rooms of mothers. Supporters of co-sleeping are of the mindset that a parent’s bed is where an infant belongs while those opposed to it argue that it is just downright dangerous.

Co-Sleeping With Your Baby

People choose to co-sleep with their babies for a number of different reasons. It is believed that co-sleeping encourages breast feeding and makes it more convenient by helping to synchronize the mother and baby’s sleep cycles. Supporters of co-sleeping also believe that it brings a mother and baby closer together, especially if there is separation during the day due to work or other commitments. With these benefits in mind, it’s understandable why some mothers choose to co-sleep with their infants. If you do choose to co-sleep with your baby, it is important that you do so safely.

How I Grocery Shop with an Infant

I was never huge into baby wearing with SweetPea. Not because I didn't want to, I tried...., I just didn't have a good carrier. Which made grocery shopping before she could sit up on her own by myself almost impossible. My husband works in a grocery store, so the last thing he wants to do is go grocery shopping on his days off. He works long hours, so I try to soak up every minute I can with him. I do sometimes leave the kids with m mother-in-law when she isn't working, but I don't like to burden her too much. So grocery shopping with just me and the kids is our norm.

Tips on Grocery Shopping with an Infant

If you've been following me on Instagram (and you should be), I have been sharing my love of my new Boba 4G Carrier in Dusk (which is their top selling carrier).

Weekly Totals - Publix - Saved 72%!

I'm excited for this trip because I stocked up on some produce that we really needed. I might go back and grab some more resolve because with two kids (one who is a boy), I'm going to definitely need it and at $0.50 who couldn't pass it up! ;D The FREE (actually money making) sausage, I'm SUPER excited about because I have a recipe I want to share with all of you and I was waiting for a deal on sausage, so now I can! :D (Yes, I use too many emoticons. ;P)
I also want to thank my mom for all the coupons she gave me on Mother's Day because if I wasn't for her this trip would have not been possible.

So this is what I got:

My PostPartum Work Out {MaternitySale.au Nursing Tops Review}

These days I have been trying to get back on the weight loss track again. I had lost 30 lbs. before I got pregnant with Peanut and I'm not quite back at pre-pregnancy weight yet. Working out with a 3-year-old and an infant hasn't been the easiest, but once SweetPea starts school in August, I can join our local LA Fitness (with help from our insurance provider) and I can go on days she has school because their childcare service watches babies 5 months and up!

I recently received some nursing tops from MaternitySale.au to test out.

Purex Crystals Dryer Sheets Review & Giveaway, 2 Winners, Ends 6/1

I received the following complimentary as part of the Purex Insider blogger program. All opinions are my own.

I love dryer sheets more than liquid fabric softener. The reason? They have so many uses! I tend to only use them on our sheets and towels when washing because they sit in the closet longer. I also like to use them to stick in our drawers and closets so everything can smell laundry fresh longer.

I had planned a bigger haul at Publix but my computer was having issues connecting to the printer. It wasn't the printer because I printed the Cheerios coupons from my iPad with no problem. But have no clue what is going on because it printed my shopping list. It seems something with JavaScript, maybe.

So you might see stuff from this sale on to next week's weekly savings post. I decided to head to Kroger first. You got a $3 Catalina when you bought 6 qualifying General Mills products and since I need canned veggies plus my Publix takes Kroger as a competitor, I stopped there first. I got super lucky on that Starbucks coffee deal! And then when I came home, there was an iBotta offer for ANY brand bread! I saved 62% after iBotta savings. I did the picture before I figured in those savings. To learn more about iBotta, you can view my post HERE. New users don't get $10 anymore, but you still get $5! :D So anyways, let's see how I did this week.

Strawberry Picking at Southern Belle Farm {Wordless Wednesday}

Hubby had the day off Monday, so we went Strawberry picking at Southern Belle Farm. I had Peanut in the Boba and it was hot, but lots of fun!

On-The-Go This Summer with Stonyfield

I participated in a Blogger Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Stonyfield. I received coupons to facilitate my shopping trip and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

Stonyfield Pouches

We are HUGE fans of Stonyfield. We have been since SweetPea was an infant. Once she was old enough to start eating yogurt, I started buying YoBaby. So when I received the opportunity to receive free product coupons to try Stonyfield's new YoBaby, YoToddler, and YoKids yogurt pouches to test out, I jumped all over it!

5 Tips When Baby Proofing {Update & Giveaway}

Disclosure: I received this product as part of an advertorial. All opinions are my own.

I did a post last year about Tips for Baby Proofing.

Child Safety Baby Proofing Advice Tips

One of the tips I gave was to look up, I also talked about how a TV mount was an ideal solution. And although I still feel like it is a great investment, it can be VERY pricey once you have paid for the mount and the proper installation.

That is why I am loving these Dreambaby's Furniture Anchors!

Getting Ready for Bottle Feeding with the Nuby Natural Touch Sterilzer

I received complimentary products to provide this post. All opinions are my own.

I was never able to bottle feed my daughter, but I was prepared with a ton of the accessories needed to do so! My son takes a bottle like a champ, but I ant to make sure all those older bottles (some needing new nipples) are fresh and clean for him to use too. That's why I'm loving the Nuby Natural Touch Microwave Steam Sterilizer.

The Microwave Steam Sterilizer holds up to four bottles and keeps the contents sterile for up to three hours! The quickest and most effective method of sterilization, the compact Nuby sterilizer can be neatly stored in the microwave to free up space in the kitchen. I store mine in my pantry.

Weekly Totals - Publix - Saved 73%!

I was excited for this trip because I got some more great donation items for Stamp Out Hunger this Saturday. The diapers are a good deal to me and although my little man isn't in that size yet, I never want to have to pay full price for diapers and he will definitely go through them.

So I saved 73% this week...

Happy 2 Months, Peanut! {Wordless Wednesday}

Two Months Breastfeeding Milestone

My average shorty with a big brain. :)
He is doing so well and is a happy, smiley baby. He likes to sleep on his tummy, being held, or in his Graco Lounger. He is doing the baby sleeping through the night - 6 hour stretches - on most nights. He has started biting when we are nursing, hopefully I can nip it in the bud before he gets any teeth. He is a very messy and noisy eater. He is very boogery and poops a lot. He is about to outgrow some 0-3 month clothing and his size 1 diapers very soon. He takes a breastmilk bottle really well. Pumping is going good even with my old pump because he doesn't mind loud noises. He's getting better at keeping the mam pacis in his mouth. He is starting to lose a little bit of hair right in the back.

When we went to his two month check up he had to have 3 shots and one oral. He cried for a long time after his shots and even SweetPea cried she felt so bad for him. It was actually kind of cute.

I promise I'll share his birth story one day. Although it's sad to think that may be my last pregnancy, I think he is our last baby so I am trying to enjoy every moment. So things may be slack on the blog, but babies don't keep.

Stamp Out Hunger - Only May 10th!

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up, if you didn't know already, that this weekend is the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive. On Saturday, May 10, just leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods next to your mailbox before the time of your normal mail delivery. Your letter carrier will collect the donation and deliver it to a food bank or food pantry in your local community.

Just make sure the food is non-perishable, in non-breakable containers and have it ready and at your mailbox before your letter carrier arrives. Super easy and a great way to help out in your community!

I did two trips this week. One Thursday and then one Saturday because the new Green Ad Flyer came out. These Flyers can be found in store or in your Sunday papers. I am still not back to buying Sunday papers, so although I might miss some deals, there are TONS of great pintable coupons available to me still. Plus cheap turkey that although it's made into burgers, it's inexpensive so I can ground it up and use it for  just about anything!

Making Breastfeeding Fashionable {Milk Nursingwear Review + #SpecialMom Giveaway Hop}

I received products from Milk Nursingwear complimentary for the purposes of review. All opinions are 100% my own.

I don't know about you, but fashion isn't high on my priorities when breastfeeding. I just look for clothing that makes the girls easily accessible, but sometimes you want to look nice. A few weeks ago we had my son's Sip & See. Family and friends came over to my sister-in-law's house to "Sip" some drinks and "See" the baby now that we knew he was a boy. Being only 5 weeks post-partum at that time, I knew I would need something accessible AND fashionable.
