I am a firm believer in a night time routine. It helps little ones adjust from day to night, they know what to expect, and helps them wind down for the day. Setting up the perfect routine for your family takes some time and adjustment as each child and their needs are different. This is what works for my family, but it may be different for yours.
1. Establish a bed TIME. SweetPea's bed time has always been around 8:30 p.m. But Peanut needs to go down a little earlier or he gets super grumpy. He is usually very go with the flow, but he has a better night if he goes down to sleep about 8 p.m. Then he will wake up at 10 p.m. to nurse again and then he's down for the night.
2. Set Up a Routine. Bath, Nurse, Book, Rock, Bed. That's ours. We don't do bath every night, but he has some kind of "cleaning", whether it's a sponge bath or a nice lotion massage. Then I make sure he gets a full belly, but not right before he lays down and always make sure he burps. We usually read a book with his big sister, then I rock him where he is in that happy in between state of completely asleep and awake so he can soothe himself to sleep. Providing a routine is wonderful because if you will have to put your baby to bed later than they are use to, they have learned what to expect next.
3. Safe, Cozy Bed. Now that he is in his crib, I make sure his bed is cool, but not cold. Cozy, but breathable. Creating a safe space and comfortable for my baby to sleep has been easier with the Fresh Air Crib Liner ™ by SootheTIME.
The first few months of a baby’s life help to lay the foundation for sleep and wellness. That’s why The Fresh Air Crib Liner ™ by SootheTIME, part of the Just Born family, delivers just what you need to create a safe and comfortable environment, leaving more time for mom and dad to focus on bonding and fewer reasons to worry. The Fresh Air Crib Liner ™ is The Crib Bumper Alternative ®. Designed for babies to sleep safely and parents to sleep soundly, The Fresh Air Crib Liner ™ is adjustable to fit most cribs, locking in place a mesh liner that provides fresh airflow for a safe sleep.
The fresh air crib liner is very simple to install and only requires that you set it up in your baby’s crib one time. This convenient crib liner stays safely secure and in place and allows you the freedom of changing the sheet without the worry of having to readjust the liner. This is the perfect alternative to a crib bumper and you can sleep soundly knowing your baby’s arms and legs stay in the crib at all times. The liner is also breathable which means you won’t have to worry when your baby starts rolling over and moving around a lot in the crib at bed time. This is by far one of the safest and reliable crib liners I have seen and highly recommend you consider it for your nursery!
