We didn't get a chance to make it to theaters to see Disney•Pixar’s “Coco”, but I had heard wonderful things and of course wanted to see it ever since I saw the first preview. We were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to host an "Unforgettable Family Reunion" right in our own home.
In Disney•Pixar’s “Coco,” Pixar Animation Studios’ 19th feature film, Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz - despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Héctor, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history.
"Coco" was so well written. It was full of culture. I loved learning the beliefs behind DÃa de los Muertos. The story was beautifully told and the message came across wonderfully. If you have ever lost someone close to you, then you will appreciate the message through a happy sad cry. My daughter is seven and I did have to explain parts of this movie to her. But my daughter teared up watching it and her thoughts on it were: "It was a good movie - sad, but a good kind of sad."
My son will be four next month and he enjoyed it even if he didn't understand it.

Through fresh and fascinating bonus material, adventurers of all ages will tag along with filmmakers as they soak in DÃa de los Muertos in Mexico; explore the essential role of music in “Coco;” and learn how the cast and crew personally connect with the film’s message. They’ll step behind the scenes to discover the inspiration behind the film’s creative costuming; Miguel’s beautifully complicated family; Dante the loyal Xolo dog; and the stunning worlds of both the dead and the living. Features also include deleted scenes, insightful filmmaker commentary, the music of Coco and more.
This beautiful film won a 2018 Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Motion Picture, topped the domestic box office Thanksgiving holiday weekend, became the highest grossing film of all time in Mexico, broke records in China and earned widespread praise, receiving 96 percent from critics and 97 percent from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Now this vibrant tale filled with love and laughter arrives home Digitally in HD and 4K Ultra HD™ and on Movies Anywhere on Feb. 13, and on 4K Ultra HD,™ Blu-ray,™ DVD and On-Demand on Feb. 27.

We haven't seen the movie yet so I'd like to win because it is hard to get to the movie theater since my youngest is 3 yrs old, my oldest is 6yrs old and usually only gets to go with my husband a couple times a year. Instead we tend to borrow movies from the library and have family movie parties. We go all out at least once a month by making themed food or snacks, decorations and crafts or art that go along with the selected movie. It's a great family time. If we had Coco we would have to have a super movie party for sure! We are big disney/pixar fans and one of the features we enjoy the most is the great music that they have. My personal favorite movie is Meet the Robinsons but my daughter is a Little Mermaid fan. My youngest likes The Great Mouse Detective the best (he's a silly unique guy!).
