If you have been following me on my blog or social media for any amount of time, then you know I suffer from anxiety. I don't talk about it online as much as I do in real life, but it is a very part of my life. Going to the gym and getting regular exercise has been helping tremendously. I have also tried CBD oil as well. There are many things that trigger it and sometimes it can be debilitating, but I am trying to work through it the best I can.
I recently reached out to SensaCalm about trying out one of their weighted travel blankets. I have a few issues that I wanted to try and resolve with this; 1. I have trouble sleeping when not in my own bed. 2. I have anxiety about going to the dentist. The reason I thought a weighted blanket would help with the later is because when they put the weighted x-ray blanket on me, I always felt a calming sensation. I had asked for them to keep it on me once I realized this and I wasn't as anxious throughout the visit. The next time I went in, I asked if they could put it on me even though they weren't taking x-rays and either they forgot or didn't want to, so the rest of that visit I was back to my over-anxious, crying self (yes, it causes me to cry uncontrollably for unexplained reasons). I have no idea why I get so anxious at the dentist, but going is a necessity.
Here are some reasons why you might consider getting a weighted blanket:
1. Eases Insomnia
2. Helps with Sensory Processing Disorder
3. Reduces Anxiety
4. Eases Symptoms of Restless Leg Syndrome
5. Helps Fibromyalgia Pain - why I included them in my Mother's Day Gift Guide for my mom
6. Promotes Calm
7. Soothes Symptoms of Panic Disorder
8. Manages Autism Symptoms
9. Helps Manage OCD
10. Improves Sleep Quality

My son struggles with staying in his bed. I received a Dock-A-Tot at the beginning of last year hoping it would help him, but to no avail. This past Christmas, we gave him a Peaceful Pal Snuggle Shark from SensaCalm and it really has been helping him stay in his bed. My son is a snuggler and likes to sleep up against the wall with his shark on the other side and a white noise machine. We have finally found this magic combo to get him to stay in bed and sleep peacefully through the night instead of him trying to climb into bed with us or sleep in our hall closet. Yes, he would do this because he knew if he came into our bed, we would put him back in his.
SensaCalm has been a key part in our family since I had the pleasure to first start working with them and am so excited to offer my readers the chance to win a custom weighted travel blanket. SensaCalm offers their travel blankets in 4, 6, or 8 pounds and also with or without a dimpled backing. They come in three different colors and are constructed in the USA with quality materials. They are also machine washable and dryable!
