Family Adventure Summer Fun Essentials

Whether you are spending a day at the beach, staying at the lake, or just adventuring outdoors, this is a great list of needs the entire family will enjoy. We live in Georgia where is hot and humid all summer long. We are always at the beach, lake, or swimming pool, so over the years I have learned what has worked for our family.

Johnson & Johnson's Baby Gel Oil with Aloe & Vitamin E - This is an awesome way to keep the bugs away! My mother-in-law found this idea on Pinterest YEARS ago for something to keep the bugs off my daughter's delicate baby skin since anything with deet is a no-go. I swear this aloe gel works!

SwimWays Life Jacket Swim Trainer - Life Jackets have to be coast guard approved to be able to use in a boat, but they are really the best way to go. We love the SwimWays brand and the swim trainers. I found one for less than $13, but they also make some cute Nickelodeon character ones as well. SwimWays Baby Spring Floats are the only ones I recommend for babies.

Nautica Tilting Beach Umbrella - A little pricey than some, but they hold up to beachy winds have lasted us YEARS instead of just a season or worse only one day!

SoCozy Swim 3-in-1 Shampoo, Conditioner, & Body Wash - the only thing I have found to detangled pool hair and make sure blonde hair doesn't turn green from chlorine. Cleanses and repairs damaged hair caused by pool chemicals, saltwater and the sun. Removes unwanted green tones, calcium salts, and chlorine buildup from hair and leaves body squeaky clean.

Blue Lizard Sunscreen - I am a firm believer in reef safe sunscreen so Blue Lizard contains no oxybenzone or Octinoxate. But I have reviewed many "reef friendly" sunscreens and they aren't all alike. Blue Lizard is a little thicker and it works really well because of its UVB/UVA protection.

Collapsible Folding Wagon - I like the collapsible wagons with wide wheels so they can easily roll over sand. We spend all day on the beach so we needed something that could help us carry our large cooler and other essentials. Collapsible is key too so it can easily fit in the back of my car for travel.

Grizzly Cooler - We got this cooler through my husband's work. We wanted one like this because they keep stuff cold for so long, literally all day without adding extra ice. But they are also bear resistant which is key for us when camping.

Water Proof Blue Tooth Speaker - I don't know what we would do without music on the boat, at the lake, or at the beach!

Large Utility Tote - and of course you will need something to carry all of the essentials in!

For Baby:

Pop Up Pack and Play - I wish they had these when my kiddos were little. With my daughter we had to lug around a HUGE pack-n-play anywhere. With my son, we used a large jogging stroller. I wish we had to one of these, it would have made everything so much easier.

Reusable Swim Diapers - I know these existed when my kids were babies, but I didn't know about them. Swim diapers whether, disposable or not, just hold poop anyway, so you might as well not waste all that money by buying sposies.
