Eating healthy doesn't mean that you have to give up the things you love. But making and bringing your healthier alternatives to festivities is what has helped me stay on track to lose and keep off 70 pounds. So, with summer in full gear and fourth of July (Independence Day) right around the corner, I thought I would share something I'm adding to my charcuterie board, and they are these patriotic yogurt dipped strawberries.
What You Need:
1/2-pound strawberries, washed and dried
6 oz. yogurt (Greek is thicker, but I had vanilla on hand)
food coloring
sprinkles
What You Do:
Wash and dry strawberries. Put yogurt into bowl and add about 4-6 drops food coloring, then keep adding until desired color. Dip Strawberries in yogurt, place in fridge for about 45 minutes, then take strawberries out of fridge and then re-dip in yogurt, add sprinkles if desired. Place strawberries back in fridge for another 45 minutes and voila!
To make this recipe healthier, use Greek yogurt and flavor with protein powder.
You could do a pink colored yogurt for Valentine's Day, green colored for Christmas, but remember strawberries are best in season around May.
What a fun idea, and they look delicious as well! I am definitely going to have to make some of these with my kids, I know they would love them too! Thank you so much for sharing. :)
