Sunday, we were those parents. We climbed Stone Mountain with an almost 5 month old and a 3 1/2 year old. It was VERY hard and we have decided it is our first weightloss goal. To make it to the top without so many breaks. LOL
It was Peanut's first time there and SweetPea's first time climbing the mountain. It was me and Hubby's first time in YEARS. The last time I attempted to climb it, my sister, brother, & I thought we could carry my niece & nephew with a stroller to the top. HA! We didn't even make it halfway.
SweetPea took maybe a 15 minute nap in the car beforehand. There was one part that was super slippery. Hubby and I kept rotating the over 15 lb pound weight known as Peanut. But we stayed for the laser show after riding the tram to the top. So fun memories were had by all! We bought a year pass because we plan on going back and dominating it again! :D
Aw! that's a nice family photo :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a tanfastic week ;-)
Good on you!! I love climbing mountains but I'm no pro. I love that its good for weight loss but I don't focus on that at the time, just the challenge. I like getting the kids on board for climbs too. It's a great family activity. Well done for getting your kidlets up there!!! It doesn't look easy!
ReplyDeleteWhoa thats an amazing place. What a view and I am sure its really nice there in reallife! Goodluck with the weightloss goal. I myself needs to lose a lot and I cant start! I dont know where to start =( #ww
ReplyDeleteOh, this looks like so much fun! Well done! :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like fun, Diana! I've never climbed a mountain before, not even Stone Mtn. The first time I went, my husband chose to take the ride to the top. Now that we have a good baby carrier, we should definitely try hiking. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletethat seems like a great feat. we did the same thing at camelback mountain in scottsdale. it was hard but fun. it looks like you have a good time doing it as well.
ReplyDeleteLet me suggest another... Pine Mountain Trail in Kennesaw. It's about the same elevation as Stone Mtn. The elevation changes are handled much better by switchbacks along the trail. It's a fun hike and dare I say.... the view is more rewarding.
ReplyDeleteWe have climbed Kennesaw Mountain when I was about 13 with my mom and step dad. I remember it being fun. But I don't know how I'd fair now, with a kiddo strapped to me. LOL
DeleteWhat a great time you all had!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! My husband and I are trying to get out more and getting into nature with various hikes with our toddler. It's so much more fun than just walking or running on a treadmill!
