I had a brother and sister growing up. It was awesome. Sure we fought, what siblings don't? My brother and I were only 22 months apart, so we fought like cats and dogs. I wouldn't change a thing. I'm so glad my kids have each other. And since today is National Siblings Day, I thought I would share the reasons I think having a sibling is awesome.
1. They always have a play mate. I love watching my kiddos play together. They have played together since the moment my son was born.
2. Someone to look out for you...always. My brother and I use to fight like cats and dogs. But NO ONE else was allowed to pick on him.
3. They always have someone to talk to. My parents were divorced and through them getting re-married and the struggles with that, my brother was the only one who understood what I was going through and vice versa.
4. They teach you the art of Debate. Okay well maybe not debate per say...but you do argue a LOT especially about what to watch on TV/whose turn it is to choose.

Believe it or not, siblings really can get along. They play together, they cuddle, and they get sad when one of them is gone for too long. But when it comes to agreeing on something to watch, they can go from love to loathe in a matter of minutes. Netflix wants siblings everywhere (of all ages) to get along famously, no matter their differences in show tastes. That’s why they have created Netflix Sibling Playlists to honor National Siblings Day. During the month of April, kids can choose from playlists such as the “Tale of Two Distant Ages” to “Sugar and Spice” and more, offering something for every sibling squad to watch and enjoy together.

A Tale of Two Distant Ages
Fret no longer, this playlist caters to both your 5-year-old AND your 14-year-old.
|
Sugar and Spice
One kid’s sassy, the other one’s sweet.
|
Meet in the Middle
Deciding on a genre is the hardest when it comes to watching together. From comedy to action, this playlist includes titles that have a little bit of everything for everyone.

Must Watch TV
Whether long distance or right next door, these days, adult siblings are also bonding over what they’re watching. Difference is you’re no longer fighting over the remote and are instead championing your favorite Netflix title to get your brother or sister hooked on the same shows. Here are a few that are sure to win you some big-time street cred.

Do you have a sibling? Does your little one? Do they argue over what to watch? How do you compromise?

My sisters were my very best friends when we were growing up!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to my son always having a playmate and a best friend for life.
ReplyDeleteI could never imagine my life without siblings!! Love them both and love how different we all are!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more! I have a 7 year old daughter, a 3 years old son, and a 2 year old daughter. It is so awesome to see them all playing together! My oldest loves creating little games and activities and the other two just follow along happily. It's adorable. :)
ReplyDeleteFunny enough, my sister and I fought a lot too, but no one else better fight with her or it was on! So happy my son now has a sibling to grow up with!
ReplyDeleteYou'll always have a best friend and unconditional love.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are basically 18 months apart. They seem to hate each other and are totally different (they are 20 and 18) but hopefully they are learning that they come from the same gene pool.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sibling shots.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/04/stop-looking-at-me.html
I think it is good to have siblings, if the parents can. It is good not only growing up, but as people get older, too. I'm glad for the siblings I have.
ReplyDeleteVery cute post and pictures. It's Brothers and Sisters Day today so call your sibling. You fight, you talk, you laugh...siblings are such blessings.

ReplyDeleteI like that netflix created sibling playlists. It really gives siblings that bonding time they so need.
ReplyDeleteWhen I met my husband, it was our second go around for both of us. He had one daughter already that he couldn't see. I had two daughters already. We decided to have one child together. He was already in his thirties and I was in my twenties. Well after we had our daughter together, there was five years between my last daughter and the daughter I just had. I noticed that the other two didn't want nothing to d with her! As a matter of fact, they were jealous of her. So I begged my husband for me more child. I had to agree that this would definitely be our last child. We had another girl, but things did get better between all the girls! I loved it and knew the effect that siblings had on each othe! It's a special kind of bond! I have one with my sister 😍
