Mamaway is a brand I was introduced to last year when I reviewed their ring sling. So I was excited to work with them again. I was recently asked to review their newest innovative product which is their UltraComfort Seamless Maternity & Nursing Bra. Though I'm no longer nursing, I do know what to look for in a quality nursing bra.
Here is what I look for in a Quality Nursing Bra:
1. Comfort. You are going to be living in this bra, so it has to be comfortable. I had to sleep in my nursing bras for the first few months because I had to wear nursing pads and to try avoid engorgement.
2. Support. Your nursing bra is going to be put under a lot of stress. Your breasts will weigh more than you ever thought possible so your bra needs to be able to lift those bad boys up to where they belong. This maternity & nursing bra has wide shoulder straps that lie flat against your back and side panels. This distributes weight more evenly, helping to prevent back pain. Its ribbed fabric stretches up to 3 cups, giving you proper structural support without the underwire.
3. Price. $70 on a bra may be okay when you bought a super cute lacy thing that was meant to show off to your hubby before you had kids, but it doesn't cut it on a maternity/nursing bra. 4. Extended Bra Hooks. You will grow and grow. Your changing bust needs to be accommodated. I started wearing nursing bras when I was pregnant because of the extra hooks.
5. Easily Unfastens. You need a nursing bra that you can easily get access to the girls when you have a hungry baby to tend to. And yes, there are nursing bras out there that didn't think their main function through.
6. Flattering. Let's face it, when you are wearing a nursing bra, you still want something that is pretty. You don't want it to seen under you clothes like a huge diaper for your boobs.
