"I Like You a Bunchie, so Here's a Scrunchie" - Trendy DIY Valentine Idea Free Printable

This Scrunchie Valentine Free Printable was created for every VSCO girl. And while I love creating these easy FREE printables for you to enjoy, I do include affiliate links where I make a small commission each time you make a purchase, but you still pay the same low price.

Scrunchie Trendy Valentine Idea

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I was trying to think about what my daughter and I have created together for her to hand out to her class mates. From everything to a homemade Unicorn Valentine Box to easy, no fuss printables. This year I wanted to create something trendy that I knew she would enjoy handing out. Plus I am always trying to think of new non-candy Valentine ideas that kids or even teenagers will actually enjoy.

When I was trying to think about what to make with my daughter for our annual Valentine school handouts, I tried to think about the things she likes. As she thinks being a VSCO girl is the new hip thing (she is only in third grade after all), she loves her Hydroflask, saving the sea turtles one metal straw at a time, and of course scunchies. So I thought, why not create a cute printable for my readers that would make the perfect, non-candy school hand out.

First of all, what is a VSCO girl?
According to Dictionary.com, a VSCO girl is a term, generally used as an insult, for a young, usually white woman who posts trendy pictures of herself edited on the app VSCO. But what does UrbanDictionary say? "Tumblr girls of 2019. Common interests include scrunchies, hydro flasks, seashell chokers, and Birkenstock’s or Crocs." So this isn't a bad fad or anything and hey, it's a new year. This might all change by next week. But since I adore scrunchies and they aren't expensive at all, I knew I could get creative with it. And if you thought scrunchies were expensive, I found a 60 count of scrunchies on Amazon for only $5.99 and there is also a 45 count of assorted scrunchie colors for only $5.99.

scrunchie valentine with free printable - non candy idea

I have created an easy printable and multi printable for your use that I made with PicMonkey. This idea is perfect because it is trendy and unique. I plan on personally letting my daughter hand these out to the girls and boys in her class, but if you are looking for another unique, non-candy Valentine handout for classrooms, then check out our Squishy Valentines we made last year.

Multi Page Printable Found HERE (prints in multiple of 6). If you would like to print the single image, click on the image above. I found the multiples worked best in a 5x7 image setting on my printer.

All you have to do to re-create this super easy valentine is print the below on card stock, then punch holes to loop string or twine like I did around the scrunchie and card so you can tie them together, and then you are good to go. I personally print like I am printing a picture and I also made a version and multi version that includes sea turtles. Please let me know in the comments below which you like better. If you decided to print off the cards smaller, then you could simply wrap the hair tie around the card, but you need to use cardstock if you go this route.

Multi page printable with Sea Turtles found HERE, if you would like to print the single image then click the image above. They print in multiple of 6. I found that the multiples worked best in a 5x7 image setting on my printer.

As I was printing the images above to create the actual Valentine's, I thought you all might appreciate a small gift tag instead so you could print off many at once especially if it is for a larger class. You can find that printable HERE. They print in multiple of 8. Again, I found the multiples worked best in a 5x7 setting.

VSCO girl valentine idea

I enjoy creating these printables. I print them like photos from my printer on either card stock or photo paper. If you have a Cricut and create something like this with it, I wish I had that opportunity. Since I don't have a Cricut, I like creating unique Valentines that are easy for everyone to enjoy and not just those with expensive machines. Because you can also easily print these like photos at Walgreens or Shutterfly as well or even Costco if you have one locally. I suggest Shutterfly if you go this route simply because the quality is the best, in my opinion.

You asked! I am delivering, an easier way to add these to your scrunchies, simply go HERE and print the template, cut them out, and staple them around your scrunchies!

Love is in the hAIR!
