Eating a home-cooked supper is often a lot tastier than eating out, and it's often considerably healthier than eating something you've produced yourself because you have complete control over the goods you use. However, finding time to cook when you're a busy person with a career and a family clamoring for your attention could seem near impossible, leading to convenience meals becoming more popular than ever. Thankfully, figuring out how to cook more frequently without spending hours in the kitchen isn't as complicated as you may think, as there are a number of ideas and suggestions that you can use to produce a range of wonderful foods in minutes! So, if you're interested in learning more, continue reading.
Meal Preparation Can Be Very Beneficial
Cooking experiments are one of the most effective ways to save time in the kitchen, especially when it comes to food preparation. Meal preparation is the process of cooking your meals in bulk or ahead of time so that you can just grab a jar full of ready-to-eat food and eat. Essentially, you only need to cook once, even though you will be able to serve 4-5 dinners from the dish you prepare – any leftover uneaten portions should be stored in the fridge or freezer, and you can quickly reheat them in the oven if you are in a rush and want a freshly prepared dinner. Meal prep is popular among bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts who require rapid access to a range of nutritious dishes. It is a convenient approach to save time while still maintaining a healthy diet. Cook nutritious dishes such as chili with lentils and beans or a chicken soup that includes plenty of your five-a-day vegetable servings.
Cooking At a Low Temperature
Another great alternative to consider is cooking your food low and slow, as this will allow you to go about your day doing your normal activities and obligations while your dinner sizzles away in the background without your interference. There is a plethora of dishes that can be cooked low and slow, ranging from whole turkeys or cuts of beef to one-pot meals or easy old bay wings that can be easy to prepare and cook. When you're getting ready to put your meal in the oven or slow cooker, all you have to do is a little initial prep work, and then you can go on with whatever task you need to do while it simmers away softly. Meat becomes extremely soft when cooked slowly, so you'll be rewarded with a tasty meal as a consequence of your efforts.
Preparation
Although you will spend some time in the kitchen preparing, if you plan and prepare for the week ahead with a meal plan and pre chopping veggies when you have more free time, you will be far more likely to cook in the week. This works well if you have free time at the weekend but work long hours in the week. You could even bulk cook and freeze some of your meals ready to stick in the oven when you get home.
Using some of the wonderful techniques listed above, you can spend less time in the kitchen but still eat healthily.
Great tips. We never eat out any more - so many places have closed, except for McDs, etc - and I don't consider that "eating out". I do like to cook in bulk, as you suggested, and freeze the left-overs. It does save time, and can taste better after the flavors meld.
