1. Hire Professional Help
Professional cleaners are skilled in cleaning techniques that may take less time than if done by an individual, such as cleaning the bathroom thoroughly and quickly. Their cleaning supplies may also be more effective at cleaning surfaces than products available to consumers.
Not only can a professional cleaning service save you time and energy, but it can also help keep your home in better shape for longer. Professional cleaning means that your home will be tidied up consistently, which can help reduce the amount of dirt build-up over time. This is especially beneficial if you have allergies or sensitivities to dust – regular cleaning visits from professionals can help reduce the levels of allergens in your home.
2. Establish Routines
When establishing routines, start small and gradually increase the number of tasks you complete each day. For instance, make your bed every morning or tidy the kitchen after dinner. As time passes, add more tasks, such as vacuuming once a week or putting away toys after playtime. This will help form habits that become second nature over time and make keeping your home neat much simpler in the long run.
3. Store Items Strategically
- Sort your belongings into categories – clothing, books, electronics, etc. – so that everything has its own place.
- Ensure all frequently used items are easy to access and visible at eye level.
- Try not to overstuff drawers, shelves, or cupboards, as this will make it difficult to find items and can create clutter.
- Utilize space-saving solutions like hooks and wall shelves.
- Store seasonal items in an accessible place so you can easily swap them out when needed. Storing items strategically is a simple way to keep your home tidy and organized. By planning where things should go, you'll be able to save yourself time and energy in the future. Not only that but having your belongings stored neatly also helps create an atmosphere of peace and harmony at home – something we could all use more of!
4. Declutter Regularly
One helpful tip for decluttering regularly is to set aside a few hours each week or month dedicated solely to this task. This allows you to tackle things bit by bit, which makes it less overwhelming than having one big day-long clean-up session now and then. Additionally, if you can manage it, try breaking down your tasks into smaller chunks - every couple of days, focus on decluttering one specific area of your home. This way, you’ll have a better chance of keeping it neat in the long run.
5. Divide and Conquer
6. Use Vertical Space
Following these six simple strategies, you can keep your home clean and tidy without feeling overwhelmed or overburdened. Establishing routines, decluttering regularly, storing items strategically, dividing and conquering chores, using vertical space, and letting go of perfectionism are great ways to make tidying up easier and more enjoyable. A clutter-free home is a source of comfort and joy – so start tackling those cleaning tasks today!
It's the de-cluttering that baffles me. I just don't know where to put anything....we're short on storage and closets, it's a small apartment.
ReplyDeleteInvesting in shelving units or re-doing closets to add shelving was key for us. But purging and living more minimalistic has been better all around. We live in a society that thinks we need access because then we are using our buying power, but the reality is that we don’t need so much.
DeleteThank you for the tips! I also wanted to thank you for the cleaning check list, it's exactly what I was looking for. Iam a mom of 4 and the last few years have been more difficult to get things organized and done, all of your posts are helping me so much. Thank you again!
