My kids LOVE bath time. I think what they like the most is all the fun toys they have. We received our Nuby Squid Squirter a while ago to review and it is by far one of their favorite toys. It has held up very well and you can't beat that kind of quality for the price.
Nuby's Squid Squirter is a fun way for your child to shoot water with a cute squid design. When you hold the squid under water and pull the handle back the chamber is filled with water. Then push down on the handle and watch the water squirt everywhere. Parents beware, this will be aimed in your direction.
So we started Peanut on solids. We decided to go with Squash (we gave him butternut) because I read it was one of the best food for babies to start out with.
This is from his first time eating:
And this video is from after I made some homemade yellow squash baby food which he loved even more! He has also tried applesauce which he isn't really a fan of (of course it was jar food) and carrots (which he LOVES). I've been using the baby food recipes that came with my Cook-n-Blend baby food maker.
For Hubby's work we got the opportunity to go to Six Flags for a discounted rate on June 26th. And we decided to take our 3 year old. You may remember me taking her last year. For $25 per person we got entry into the park, free parking, and a buffet from 4-7 pm. The park was also closed to everyone except us from 9pm to midnight. We could have taken her last year, but Hubby didn't think she would be able to ride anything. So when I got to take her for the Wet Ones blogger event, he knew we could this year. I told Hubby that even if we can't ride some of the rides with her in the kiddie area, it is worth it to see her face.
We started our trip on the train and then stood in the rain waiting to ride Monster Mansion. SweetPea didn't like it as much as she did last year. Then we headed over to the kiddie area where I was bummed the Willie E. Coyote "roller coaster" wasn't working because SweetPea would have been tall enough this year. But she made a friend and had fun regardless.

I was never able to bottle feed my daughter, but I was prepared with a ton of the accessories needed to do so! My son takes a bottle like a champ, but I ant to make sure all those older bottles (some needing new nipples) are fresh and clean for him to use too. That's why I'm loving the Nuby Natural Touch Microwave Steam Sterilizer.
The Microwave Steam Sterilizer holds up to four bottles and keeps the contents sterile for up to three hours! The quickest and most effective method of sterilization, the compact Nuby sterilizer can be neatly stored in the microwave to free up space in the kitchen. I store mine in my pantry.

I posted the image above last night after the scare on Instagram.
Last night we had a little bit of a scare. I had put SweetPea to bed at 9 p.m. I was working on the computer at about 10:45 when I heard her call out saying she needed to go to the potty. This is a huge step for her with her potty training process. She is completely potty trained during the day except for naps and we are working on night time potty training. I ran up stairs and she was burning up!
Her diaper was already wet, but she did want to try and go potty. I brought her down stairs with our first aid kit that my sister made for me as a baby shower gift back in the day. We have an unreliable ear thermometer and of course the battery was dead. Then I remembered that Nuby sent me this wonderful medical kit to review. The thermometer was very easy to use. You put it under your child's arm/tongue, press the button, and wait for it to beep. SweetPea had a fever of 101.3! I immediately cringed. And ran to get some Tylenol and a luke warm wash cloth. Our medicine dropper that came with our Tylenol started dripping and was making it where I couldn't get ANYTHING into it. But the Nuby Medical Kit comes with a medicine spoon that saved the day, PLUS SweetPea thought it was neat to "drink" her medicine from.
I am so thankful for this all in one kit from Nuby. It has everything! Medical Kit includes:
- Sure-Dose™ Medicine Dropper
- Medi•Nurser™
- Nasal Aspirator with Ear Syringe
- Medicine Spoon
- Nail Clippers
- Digital Thermometer
Thank you Nuby for saving the day! What are some of your go to cures when your little one is sick?

With all the controversy surrounding pain relief medicines and the chemicals they may contain, parents are searching out natural ways to relieve teething pain. It's not wise to jump to Tylenol every time your child is in a little pain, because they may grow dependent on it. I have actually found these methods of teething relief to be much more effective. My views may differ from yours, but this is based on my personal experience. My daughter just turned three and now has all of her teeth, but I am going to rely on these tried and true methods with my next child as well.
1. Gum Massage All you need is a clean finger for this old-fashioned teething remedy. Gentle counter-pressure from Mom or Dad applied to a baby’s sore gums can help ease the pain of teething.
This one works before they have any teeth because a child has teeth they usually bite anything that comes in their mouth (at least my little ones do). You could also try massaging with a baby toothbrush.
2. Cold Spoon - A spoon chilled in the fridge (not the freezer, or it can stick!) can offer much-needed relief. Just apply the rounded part of the spoon to baby’s gums. Best for before any teeth actually break through to avoid the risk of chipping a tooth.
3. Cold Washcloth - Frozen or merely chilled, a cold wet washcloth (dipped in water, breast milk, or—as some mom’s swear by—chamomile tea) can be comforting for baby to gnaw on. My favorite go-to teething relief method. I would take the baby washcloths, soak with cool water, and pop them in the freezer. I always made sure I had some ready to go. And some how they aren't too cold for the little ones hands.
4. Chilled Foods -,If your baby has already started solids, try offering him a cold food like applesauce or yogurt to help soothe gum pain and fill him up. Celery was our favorite.
5. Breastmilk Pops - Freeze some breastmilk in an ice cube tray and make a Popsicle out of them. We call them "boob pops" in our house. ;)
6. Teething Jewelry for Moms Moms of teething babes know that their little ones will grab just about anything within reach and start chomping. Fortunately, specially designed teething jewelry is made to be gummed by little mouths. Made from FDA-approved silicone that is free of phthalates, BPA, PVC, latex, and lead, it’s non-toxic and dishwasher-safe—and made from the same material as many teething toys, but way prettier hanging around your neck or wrist.
7. Rubber Teether - Sophie the Giraffe has been helping babies get through teething for more than 50 years. Made of 100% natural rubber (BPA- and phthalate-free) and food paint, this squeaky toy made in the French Alps will likely to be one of your child's faves, I know my daughter still plays with hers. My family thought I was crazy for spending that much on "a squeak toy", but I don't regret buying it one bit.
8. Cold Fruit - Chilled fruit, like apple slices or banana, placed inside of a mesh feeder can provide relief (and a tasty snack) for a baby with sore gums. Try using a mesh feeder, like the BPA-free Nuby Nibbler™ with Hygienic Cover. We loved ours.
9. Chilled Teether - Placing a solid or liquid-filled teether in the fridge for 15-20 minutes before offering it to baby can amp up its soothing powers. I like the sweet easy-to-grab IcyBite™ Teether Keys BPA- and PVC-free teether from Nuby. I am a Nuby Mommy Blogger and received one recently to review. You can find it in my Holiday Gift Guide because I love it that much!
10. Baltic Amber Teething Necklace - Baltic Amber has been a natural pain relief remedy for hundreds for years. They non-invasive and side effect-free. Baltic amber consists of 3-8% succinic acid, a scientifically examined medical substance used in contemporary medicine. The highest content of the acid is found in the amber cortex, which is the external layer of stone. When a baby is wearing an amber teething necklace, the natural temperature of the skin warms the amber cortex, resulting in the release of succinic acid which is absorbed though in skin into the bloodstream, providing proven pain relief. And the little ones look so darn cute wearing them!
What ways have you found to naturally reduce teething pain?

When we are on vacation it is always a different experience every year we go. SweetPea is able to cope differently each time. But one thing is for certain, we have to bring some amenities from home so we can help her adjust. That's why I was happy to receive the Nuby™ Travel Spoon & Fork Set to review.
The Nûby™ Travel Set is designed to keep your little one’s utensils and your diaper bag clean, tidy and hygienic whilst out and about. The handy travel case comes with an easy to use spoon and fork set and is perfect for mom and baby on the go.
This little set came in very handy our recent trip to Florida since the condo we stayed in didn't have any kid friendly utensils, not even little forks or spoons. PLUS the silver ware was super heavy. One day I wanted SweetPea to have lunch on the beach and I wanted her to have yogurt, it was wonderful knowing that her spoon wouldn't get sand all over it and when I put it back in my bag, yogurt wouldn't get everywhere.

My daughter is going threw a washing her hair strike. She use to just tilt her head back or even let me lay her down in the water to rinse her hair. But for the last few weeks she hasn't been letting me do either. So when I had the opportunity to review the Nuby™ Tear Free Rinse Pail, I was excited because I thought this would be perfect for her...Boy was I wrong. It isn't that the Nuby™ Tear Free Rinse Pail isn't an amazing product. My daughter is just going through a phase where she doesn't want water ANYWHERE on her head, hair, or face.
The Nuby™ Tear Free Rinse Pail has a great tear free edge that molds to your child's head so the water and soap won't get into their eyes. It can be found at the following retailers: BuyBabyDirect Amazon
Kmart
I will try and update this post once my daughter isn't going through her no water on her head strike, but this really is an awesome product that has already been so useful in so many other ways. And I am glad we now own it.
