Holiday Book Ideas for Kid's Christmas Eve Baskets

Something you want. Something you need. Something to wear. Something to read. This year may look different, but we can still hold on to some traditions. One of my favorite Christmas traditions is giving my children a Christmas Eve basket that is filled with fun things to do and fun holiday books to read.

Christmas Eve Basket Ideas

I have been making these baskets since my son's first Christmas and it is a fun tradition that my children look forward to each year. I thought I would share some great ideas to fill your Christmas Eve basket if you would like to start this wonderful tradition.

Christmas Eve Basket Book Ideas with Rudolph Titles from Thunder Bay Press and Silver Dolphin Books

We have a tradition in our house of giving the kids what we call a "Christmas Eve Basket". It includes new pajamas, cooking making items, a Christmas movie, and some Christmas books. This year I received some new ones from Thunder Bay Press and Silver Dolphin Books.

Santa's New Favorite Cookies from Back to Nature

What kind of items do you like to leave out for Santa? Did you know in Australia it's customary to leave Santa a cold beer? In Denmark, Father Christmas expects a bowl of rice pudding waiting for him. In France, Père Noël receives biscuits and his reindeer get carrots. German children write personal letters to Christkind. While in Ireland, kids leave out mince pies and a Guinness for Old Saint Nick. Santa Claus is an amazing tradition shared through out the world in different and unique ways, but here in America it's customary to leave Santa milk and cookies.
