Strengthening Immunity: The Importance of Nutrition in Early Childhood
Thursday, September 26, 2024
Child immunity refers to a young child's immune system's ability to defend against infections and diseases. This ability is significantly influenced by early childhood nutrition, which provides essential nutrients for optimal immune function. Adequate intake of vitamins and minerals during formative years strengthens a child's defense against pathogens. A balanced diet enhances growth and development while reducing susceptibility to illnesses. Therefore, ensuring proper nutritional support from infancy through early childhood is crucial for promoting robust health and well-being in later life.
Antibody vulnerability period is when individuals cannot produce effective antibodies in response to infections or vaccines. This period may follow specific health events, such as illness or immunosuppressive treatments, resulting in temporary decreases in immune function. During this phase, the body’s defenses are less capable of responding effectively against pathogens. Understanding this concept is essential for healthcare professionals when evaluating vaccine schedules and managing patient care, ensuring enough protection during compromised immunity.

Properly fueling your body is key and getting more protein into your diet is not only a great way to grow your muscles since muscles burn fat, but also you feel fuller for longer. So here are some of my favorite tips to get more protein into your diet, but in a delicious, satisfying way.

When it comes to my children, my top priority each day is making sure I am doing everything I can to support their health. Cold and flu season may be coming to an end, but with all the fear with this current pandemic, the Little DaVinci® mighty vite multivitamin couldn't have been delivered to our house at a more perfect time.
We typically use a variety of supplements including elderberry for immune support, probiotics for gut health, and a multivitamin to fill in any nutritional gaps, especially B vitamins and vitamin C. This is a lot of different supplements for my children to take first thing in the morning, which is why I love Little DaVinci® mighty vite. This children’s supplement not only combines these three nutritional aspects but does it all in one powder!

Nurisystem Week 11 Update #nsnation
Sunday, December 20, 2015
Monday we started the week off with dance of course where they had a Santa and Peanut actually sat in his lap! Both were scared when we went before. SweetPea said she would have sat in his lap (even though she was scared) if she knew there were candy canes. LOL
This week has was SweetPea's last week of school before Winter Break and we all went as a family to her Christmas Party on Friday, then we took the kiddos to see The Good Dinosaur which was a GREAT movie and I seriously suggest taking your kiddos to see it.
Nutrisystem Week 10 Update #nsnation
Saturday, December 12, 2015
I received complimentary products from Nutrisystem to provide this post. All opinions are my own.
This week we celebrated my daughter's 5th birthday. You can see her birthday story and more HERE. She was the reason I started this blog, she is my rainbow baby, she is my sweet angel, and it is still so surreal that she is FIVE.
A pleasant surprise I received this week: A Nutribear! Very exciting to receive my "reward" for losing 20 pounds and I still can't believe I have done it. Starting this journey through this time of the year has been one of the most challenging things I have done.
Week 9 Nutrisystem Update #nsnation
Sunday, December 6, 2015
I received complimentary products from Nutrisystem to provide this post. All opinions are my own.
I started the week out with a stomach bug including fever. Yuck. Hubby was on vacation this week and we had made a schedule of what we wanted to do every day to make his time off work productive. But I ruined it the first day. Thankfully it was just a 24 hour bug. On Tuesday we went to go get our Christmas tree since it was suppose to rain all week.
Hubby was on vacation, so we cleaned out our room because over the weekend we bought a new bedroom set and mattress. It was WAY over due though. Our old one was an old 70's water bed frame. It even had the mirrors.
Happy Thanksgiving! An #NSNation Update
Sunday, November 29, 2015
I received complimentary products to provide this post. All opinions are my own.
I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving day if you are a reader from the US. :D I enjoyed mine. We went over to my in-laws like we do every year. We had good food and great conversations. And the little cousins got to play together too. So much fun was had by all for sure.
I went a little off the Nutrisystem plan, but it's Thanksgiving. I didn't over indulge, I didn't even have desert actually, but even I don't think that is bad if you control yourself. I actually wore an outfit that I received to review (so look out for that post). Some of the items are from Lularoe and some are from AMI Clubwear. And I felt amazing. I absolutely loved my outfit and felt confident in what I was wearing.
Nutrisystem Week 6 Update #NSNation
Sunday, November 15, 2015
I received complimentary products to provide this post. All opinions are my own.
This past week I have had more energy and maybe it's because I have been better about sticking to my meal plan? Or drinking more water? Or getting more exercise in? Or knowing I have deadlines to meet? LOL Whatever it is, it was a GOOD week. So I have decided to share some of the things I've learned since joining Nutrisystem and I thought I would share them with all of you.
How cute is my little dancer and her best friend? |

The Importance of DHA in Your Toddler’s Diet
Monday, September 8, 2014
I received compensation and free Enfagrow products for this
post.
Major infant brain growth occurs during pregnancy and throughout the first two years of life. During these times, infants and toddlers have the greatest need for Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA). DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid and a building block for the brain. Since 85% of brain growth happens within the first three years of a child’s life, it is important to maintain the recommended levels of DHA through the toddler years.
