Photography: Your Perfect Travel Buddy
Thursday, May 26, 2022
In today's tech-obsessed society, social media platforms may be the ideal venue for virtual travelers around the world to see the world's beauty, but to travel is about so much more than grabbing that perfectly balanced Instagram photo. Traveling should be interesting and worthwhile. It should enthrall and continue to inspire you, refresh the pages of your life for rejuvenation and high ground you, also continue to educate and challenge you, and most importantly, humble you. Travel provides us with our most memorable, fascinating, remarkable, unique stories, most treasured memories, and innumerable irreplaceable lessons that we might choose to pass on to someone else. It teaches people like us about ourselves and each other; it broadens our perspectives and forces us to refocus on what is important, much like a reset button. Traveling is an experience in life that you will never be able to duplicate in your tiny hometown. It gives us a different, wider perspective on how others live, greet each other, eat, converse, and quarrel, whether joyful or sad. We often form opinions based on things we've never personally experienced. We open the door to these kinds of experiences by traveling long distances; some are perilous, such as white-water rafting or trekking Everest, but for others, one thing is important: you experience something new.
Creating Lasting Memories with Shutterfly
Friday, November 15, 2019
Although I am an affiliate for Shutterfly, I have been using them to make beautiful creations for years.
I have been using Shutterfly to create lasting memories that I absolutely love. I love that you can stack coupons and they always offer great freebies. Like, ew customers can get a Free 8x8 Photo Book just for signing up and right now you can get free prints if you order through their app. How amazing is that?
I used Shutterfly to send out Christmas Cards/Pregnancy Announcement |
I get all my prints from them. And I make a wall calendar for my father-in-law almost every year so he can have beautiful, quality pictures of his grandkids in his office as well as a very useful item that even has everyone's birthday already on it. I have created so many other beautiful photo gifts as well.
How To Take Better Pictures of Your Kids
Monday, May 7, 2018
This is a guest post.
If you’re of a certain age, you’ll probably remember that disposable cameras provided the majority of family photos. You’ll have noticed now, though, that times have changed, and gone are the hand labelled folders of fingerprint-smudged, developer-printed pictures. The dawn of the camera phone, with the decent quality photos you can take on them, combined with new found opportunities for storing and sharing our photos on social media, has entirely reworked our attitude toward taking pictures. Interestingly, Infotrends calculated that in 2016 we took 1.1 trillion photos, predicted to grow to 1.4 trillion by 2020 - almost exclusively on smartphones!
Naturally the ability to capture and share more of our experiences is affords us amazing opportunities, but there is a danger to forego quality photos for overstuffed Facebook folders that people may only flick through once. To get people to really engage with your photos in this new age of Facebook albums and Instagram likes, we have created a guide to list of easy to follow tips for taking great family photos in 2018.
Capturing the Holiday Season Thanks to Portrait Innovations
Friday, November 24, 2017
So I decided to get holiday pictures taken this year. I have been wanting to get family pictures taken for a while, but trying to work it around my husband's schedule has been almost impossible, but I wanted at least some pictures of just the kids. And I am so glad I decided to do this.
When I received the opportunity to experience Portrait Innovations first hand, I jumped at the chance. I made our appointment for 9:40 am because I knew that I needed to get my kids in there early in the morning. They both woke up on their own in great moods and I think that helped a lot. The closest Portrait Innovations is about an hour away from us which really isn't unreasonable for a quality studio.
How to Display Family Pictures with FoamCorePrint
Monday, September 11, 2017
We bought our house a year ago this month. I still can't believe we have been living here that long. All the boxes have officially been unpacked, which is a HUGE accomplishment for us considering we never completely unpacked at our old house and we were there for almost nine years. But the main thing I have been focusing on now is decorating. I will eventually want to paint everything since there is just builder's grade paint on our walls now, but that will have to wait.
I love display my family as décor. Like for real, y'all. I love my family and I think they are gorgeous. I love canvas prints, metal prints, and I recently discovered FoamCorePrints.

Easy Holiday Gifts with PicCollage & HP
Thursday, November 5, 2015
This post was written as a promotional program with HP, PicCollage, and MomSelect. All opinions are my own.
I love giving personalized gifts for the Holidays. I upload pictures and share them with friends and family online all the time, but there is something extra special about personalized picture gifts. Especially for the people in your life who aren't on social media.
I don't know about you, but I LOVE making picture collages. It's not always enough to post just one photo to showcase life's most precious moments. With the help of PicCollage, now it's easy to create customized, digital collages that truly capture the memories from those perfect days and share them with your friends and family!
Playing with Babies #TBT
Thursday, October 29, 2015
VTech sponsored the product for this post. All opinions are my own.
Although I loved playing with baby dolls as a child, there aren't many pictures of me playing with you. Being baby number three, not many pictures exist at all of me in fact. My parents divorced when I was young. My dad said they must have been misplaced when I noticed the lack of pictures. But he tried to make up for it as I go older.
Anyways, this post is about a Throwback to the "babies" I use to play with. My Barbies and my Carebears. I had a ton of both and loved on them unconditionally. I treated them just like my babies though.

How We Celebrated Independence Day {Wordless Wednesday LINKY}
Wednesday, July 8, 2015
We went to the lake all weekend. We were surrounded by friends and family. And then we went and watched a spectacular fireworks display on the lake while sitting in my in-law's boat. It was pretty cool. It was my first time doing that. Peanut slept through all of the fireworks. It was way past his bed time.

Six Flags Over Georgia {Wordless Wednesday LINKY}
Wednesday, July 1, 2015
Thursday we went to Six Flags Over Georgia, just my husband, my daughter, and me. It was through my husband's work. My daughter rode her first "roller coaster". She wanted to ride anything she was tall enough for. She was 41' inches and lot of rides were 42'. She was bummed, but it was a good opportunity to teach her about the reasons there are some rules and this time it was safety! It was a very HOT day, but such a great time!
