Parenting is a learn as you go kind of gig. Experience is definitely the best teacher. You can read every parenting book out there (and trust me I did), but they can only prepare you for so much. each child is different, each situation is different, and each family is different.

There is no one size fits all parenting formula. You have to find your own formula that works for your family. I send my kids to public school. That isn't for everyone. I used disposable diapers, some people use cloth, and some people use both. I breastfed both of my babies and used formula with my youngest when he needed it. You have to do what works for you and your family. Our parenthood formula is happiness. What works for one child may not work for the other and what works at one age may (and most likely will) change as they get older.

Since my family has started to aim for a healthier lifestyle this year, we have been cooking at home more and trying to make better food choices. One of things that has changed is we have been buying more organic items including shelf safe organic products. We made the switch to buying organic milk last year. We love how much longer the date is and tasting great. I'm not a straight from the glass milk drinker, but my husband is and says organic just tastes better.

When my daughter was born, I didn't realize how truly lucky I was. She did have skin issues, but only if we used a laundry detergent besides the one we had been using all along. When my son came along, I thought he might be about the same, but boy was I wrong. He broke out from different diapers, wipes, laundry detergents, and even certain foods I ate. I am one of those people who baby wipes for everything. Of course during diaper changes, but also meal time clean ups, carpet spot cleans, everything. I breastfed both of my children. I did it for financial reasons, but there were so many other benefits. At different times, I did try to give my daughter formula. But she wouldn't take it. She had issues with her latch, I had issues with supply, and she had colic. With the endless hours of crying because of baby's discomfort, I was willing to try anything.

My son gets heat rash. He always has, even before his little body was able to sweat properly. This irritates his eczema. He was born in the Spring, so all summer long his sweet baby skin would get heat rash, especially in the crevices of his chubby legs.

I would try to keep him as dry as possible to avoid heat rash, but that wasn't always realistic. We live in the pool and lake all summer long with even a trip to the beach. Plus he always been on the sweatier side.

My daughter has always been a very cautious person. Which isn't a bad thing. She pretty much has always stayed out of harm's way to her own accord. With being a very careful person, sometimes she misses out. Things look fun and she wants to try them, but she is scared of the unknown.

Our house is on the market. It has been a nerve wracking experience to say the least. But it means I have been wanting to clean all the things! Laundry is one of those on-going battles.
